I don't know what to do with the leftover stuff from the shop. I actually I do know what I can do with it, a few things I could do. I could just stuff it in a bag and donate it but the thought of not knowing where it ends up kind of bothers me. I know it's lame but it does. I don't want to do giveaways anymore because no one cares enough to enter and I'm also not loving taking time out of my day and money out of pocket to ship things out. The head postmaster here is a nit-picky asshole and I dislike dealing with him. And shipping out of the US is too expensive now. I considered for about 30 seconds reopening the shop and just posting the rest of this stuff for a few dollars each to cover shipping. But I am pretty sure that the items would just sit there because if things were listed that low people would think there was something wrong with them or it was some sort of scam. So we're back to square one. Maybe I should just pile them up in the back yard and set them on fire as a symbol that this chapter of my life is finally closed. What do you think? Just kidding. Someone commented that they'd like the giveaways to continue, but there are things I'd rather spend my money on than shipping and I couldn't ask the winner to cover it. I doubt that people would jump at the chance to pay shipping when they weren't exactly jumping to enter when it was free. hmmm
What would you do?
I just had a thought, what about trades? Do you sew or do you have a few things that you don't wear anymore? I'd be willing to deal with Post Office Prick and send something out if I was getting something cool in return. I know people do these swaps online all the time. How do those work?
Off to do some research...
I loved your giveaways, but I only entered the ones that would fit me. I completely understand the not wanting to pay for postage when it feels like people aren't appreciating your beautiful work. Swaps sound like a great idea - I'm not sure that I have anything that you want, but maybe you could post items and let people decide whether they would pay you for the postage costs or swap something. I guess you can never tell who will be interested, but it would mean you could go into giveaways knowing that you wouldn't be out of pocket either way! Lara x
ReplyDeleteOh no I just discovered your blog yesterday. I totally loved the confetti skirt you were giving away this week and was hoping I could win something pretty myself.
ReplyDeleteHey, I would love to swap something with you for the rust colored dress the one that is large/xl.... let me know what sort of stuff you might like in return.
