Want to Trade?

After some consideration I decided to trade the rest of the items from the shop. I know there are lots of sites out there set up for things like this but I felt more comfortable doing it through my own blog. Below you will find things up for trade and I will be adding more from time to time.

~How It Works~

If you see something you want comment with what it is you are interested in and a link to or list of what you have available for trade. I'll let you know if I'm interested in anything and I'll likely want to see pictures if I am.

If we agree to trade we will both email each other our shipping addresses. Packages must be shipped within three days. Items will be sent with delivery confirmation (free if you pay and print your shipping label online btw). We will each pay our own shipping for the packages we send out and provide each other with the confirmation numbers.

That said, this swap is only open to people in the U.S. Shipping outside the U.S wouldn't be worth it to me and the USPS doesn't have delivery confirmation for other countries so I'd never be able to prove I sent the package in case it got lost. Sorry about that.

Once I receive my item I will contact you and let you know. Please provide me the same courtesy. I like to know that things turned out OK. If you can, please comment on this post so everyone else can see that this is all legit.

  1. I love the reversible suit sooooooooo very much. I have a ridiculously large stash of both fabric and patterns so if there's something you've been thinking about, I probably have it. All my vintage patterns are either a 34 or a 35, most are 50's with some 60, and a small amount of 40ish simple dresses. I have challis, wool suiting, cotton, quilting cotton, etc and chances are pretty good I have zippers and/or buttons to match. I usually buy in 2-4 yard amounts too. So uhm, any idea what you're looking for in particular?

    1. That all sounds really good. I love all those eras for the patterns. As for fabric I pretty much like everything too. Sorry that's not much help. Do you have pictures on hand of anything?

  3. Hi, I would love the Rust colored dress in the Large size. I have fabrics that I could trade.. some that come to mind are 4-5 yards of fuschia knit, 3 yards of a floral linen, some miscellaneous but lengthy yardages of quilting cottons, I have the blue lace that I pictured on my blog... I ownly need 1 yard and there are two other yards leftover.

I have a stash full of vintage laces and bias trims - a lot of the bias tapes are neutral or darker colors.

I will have to look through my pattern stash... I am pretty sure i have duplicates and stuff I have already resigned myself to never make. If you are interested in any of the above let me know.. and I'll start taking pictures of groupings. I am hopefully you could find several things to bundle together in exchange for the dress!

    1. Sounds good! You and I have similar taaste so I think I can definitely find something. I could use knit fabric now that I think of it, but fuchsia is not really my color...do you have others?

    1. I know! I'd have more success if I could ship out but postage costs are getting ridiculous. Our post service here is going bankrupt.

    2. Yeah I know what you mean. Did you use a pattern to make that one? I'd love to have a go myself. I've only made one reversible dress (http://dreamingofavonlea.wordpress.com/2013/01/05/a-reversible-start-to-the-new-year/ or http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/a-tale-of-two-notions) and it was much simpler - with a reversible zip rather than buttons. Are they uncomfortable when reversed? x

    3. I remember your dress I thought it came out so well. I'm thinking of trying my hand at reversible zippers now. And the colors were beautiful.

I drafted the pattern for that dress. That's what I did for everything in my etsy shop in the U.S. you're not supposed to use commercial patterns for goods you plan to sell. It violates copy right laws. But now that I only sew for myself I'm looking forward to trying out new patterns. I expect I'll have to do a lot of altering though.

I use snaps and the caps are so small you don't even notice. The ones I use are called Kam and super easy to apply, no sewing needed. They come in tons of colors too. It's funny when you start actively trying to figure out how to make tings reversible all these new ideas come to you. I expect you'll come up with a lot of your own. People who sew are natural problem solvers.

    4. Thank you - I've only just seen this message so sorry for the slow reply. Ah that makes sense - I presume the copyright is the same here. Thanks for the tip about snaps - I'm going to look into those right now! x
