Happy Labor Day! Well those in the U.S. anyway. I don't have plans other than sewing. It's nice to be able to say that for a change. I am drafting a new pattern for a reversible dress. In my last post I mentioned the possibility of reopening my shop just until I find something and I'm leaning in that direction right now. However, upon doing research on Etsy into what people are buying these days, I noticed that the reseller problem is even worse now than it was last year when I was selling. They are not even pretending that handmade matters anymore. Did I miss something? Last I checked the people running Etsy were still insisting (at least on the surface) that everything be handmade. Did they finally give in to becoming another Ebay? I haven't looked up any such announcements. Does anyone know for sure?
Anyway I've looked up other sites but they just don't have the amount of publicity so I don't see myself doing to well there. I'm still not decided that I want to even bother. Seems like a lot of effort for a few extra dollars. But I do miss having a shop... Until I am licensed I'm not really a desirable candidate for jobs. So what else am I going to do? I'm not sweating it though. either way I'll keep sewing, if not for me then for others. I have to say though looking at all the real handmade on Etsy hidden among all the fake Chinese shit has been really inspiring. I never lost the bug, it just went to sleep for a while..........:)
